The Bob Proctor Caribbean Cruise sails for 7nights, 8days.
What if I get bored of feel confined?
This likely won't happen. With so much to see and do, this usually isn't a problem. Holland America makes great use of onboard space. It'll probably take you a few days just to figure out where everything is! This cruise is great because it gives you the choice to do as much or as little as you please. You can spend time alone lounging on deck enjoying the sun or reading a good book. Or, you can join an exercise class, dance class, sports contest or any number of other organized deck activities. Take in a game of tennis or go for a jog around the deck. Swim, relax in the spa or try your luck in the casino. You can see a feature movie, attend a lecture or workshop by renowned experts, or enjoy a game of backgammon or bridge. The activities don't end there. Shore excursions and tours are a popular way to spend time in port. Or maybe you'd prefer to walk around, shop and explore on your own. The beauty of this cruise is its flexibility - you can do whatever you want.
Will I get seasick?
Probably not. Stabilizers on the ship and advanced weather information also help to ensure a high level of comfort for guests on board. Additionally, the development of preventative medications have aided in minimizing incidents of motion sickness. If you have concerns, it may be beneficial to speak to your physician and see what he/she recommends.
What does my cruise fare include?
Your cruise fare includes your accommodations, meals, entertainment, seminars, workshops, taxes, fees and gratuities on board. Items of a personal nature are not included, such as alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, spa treatments, certain specialty exercise classes, laundry, photographs, casino, ship-to-shore phone, e-mail, Internet, fax communications and shore excursions.
What if I don’t want to do any of the organized activities?
On this cruise, you do what you want to. You can do everything. Or lie back and do absolutely nothing. It's your vacation. Activities are a great way to meet people and there are so many you can choose from but you never have to participate in any of the programs if you are not interested.
What kind of entertainment is available?
There's dancing, live entertainment, discos and lounges; not to mention feature films and theme parties. This ship has a casino where you can try your luck at the slots, or maybe play a little blackjack. There are also many special events you won’t want to miss, such as the Captain's Cocktail Party, Passenger Talent Night, the Masquerade Parade or the Late Night Buffet.
Do I have to pay for onboard entertainment?
No - the cost of all onboard entertainment (shows, live music etc.) is included in your cruise fare. Many popular movies are also shown on board and there is no admission fee.
What can I do when the ship is docked?
The options when ashore are limitless! Holland America offers organized shore excursions and tours that you can arrange prior to cruising, or once you board. These guided outings include a range of activities, such as city sightseeing, snorkeling and diving or shopping.
If I don’t go on shore excursions, what else is there to do?
If you don't want to go on an organized tour, you can always venture off on your own. Many destinations offer their own tours, which can usually be arranged close to the port. You can take a leisurely stroll around the port town or city you are visiting, sample the local cuisine or shop for bargains and great souvenirs. If you prefer to say on board, you will discover that the pool decks and lounges are quiet havens of relaxation. You can also choose to go ashore for a few hours and then return to the ship for the balance of the day. You are free to come and go as you please; just remember that if you do go ashore on your own, you must be back before the ship’s departure.

How easy is it to make friends?
This is the perfect environment to meet people because everyone is so friendly. The atmosphere is cordial, relaxed and comfortable; the perfect opportunity to network with positive, like-minded individuals. Dinner is probably one of the easiest places to make new friends, particularly if you are seated at a large table. You'll also strike up conversations during cocktails, around the pool, while strolling the promenade deck, or during workouts in the gym.

I would like to travel with my family, would this cruise be appropriate?

Do you have last minute deals or should I book early?
Last minute discounts are less popular than in the past. Today, we reward those who book in advance. We can now tell about three months prior to departure if promotions are needed to help fill the ship. Deciding on whether to wait for a better deal depends on your level of flexibility. Overall, to be sure to obtain the flights you want and the cabin accommodations and dining times you desire, it is better to book early.
Early booking is advised if:
- You want a specific cabin, i.e. suites or mini-suites; or a specific location (port, starboard, middle of the ship, bedding, etc.)
- You require a wheelchair accessible cabin.
- You need a cabin that can accommodate a 3rd or 4th person.
- You're traveling with a group and need multiple cabins (family, group, etc.)
- You prefer a specific dining time. One dining time may fill up faster than the others.
Waiting for a last minute deal may work for you if:
- You’re flexible
- There are only two people in your party
- You aren't particular about the location of your cabin and you will take an inside cabin
Don’t forget that flights fill up quickly, and tend to get more expensive as travel dates approach.
As many people book between 12 and nine months in advance, we strongly recommend travel insurance.

What if I want to extend my cruise vacation?

What are the benefits of purchasing travel insurance?

While travel insurance is not obligatory, we strongly recommend this coverage. Remember, you can loose your entire investment and miss your vacation should anything happen. Benefits vary from unlimited emergency and hospital care, comprehensive trip cancellation and interruption coverage to baggage loss & delay or all of the above.

AIRLINE RESERVATIONS
Can I book the flight through you or can I book it on my own?
We can certainly assist you in booking your flight. If you find flights on your own or have frequent flyer points then you can purchase your airfare separately. However, please be aware that if you have any flight delays on flights arranged independently, then it will be your responsibility (and cost) to meet the ship in the next port of call if necessary. Be aware that insurance would protect a missed connection or travel delay claim.
If I book my flight through you or on my own will Holland America still provide transfer to and from the ship?
Transfers ARE NOT included with your cruise package but whether we booked your flight or if you have made your own air arrangements, you may purchase transfers between the airport and ship 60-14 days prior to sailing. Transfers from the airport and the ship are only available on the day of sailing. World Wide Shore Services at 1-800-355-3023 would be able to assist you in booking these transfers. You will need your Holland America booking number and flight information. Your flight should arrive at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport at least 2 hours prior to sailing. At the end of the cruise, transfers should be booked for at least 4 hours after the ship’s scheduled arrival time.
Upon arrival at the airport, a representative from the cruise line will greet you at the baggage claim area and direct you to the waiting motor coaches. At the end of the cruise, a representative from the cruise line will greet you at the port and direct you to the waiting motor coach that will take you back to the airport. If you do not wish to purchase transfers through the cruise line, taxis are available.

What if I miss the ship because of a weather related or mechanical delays?
If you booked your airfare with us, we will make the arrangements to get you to the ship, even if it means flying you to the next port of call. If you have travel insurance that covers delay and missed connection, any expenses you may incur to get you to the next port may be reimbursed. If you do not have travel insurance, you will be out of pocket for any costs incurred. If you booked your own airfare, then it will be your own responsibility in every respect to get to the next port of call. The cruise line will not reimburse you for any expenses. Read the fine print though; sometimes there are weather related disclaimers.

If I think I might suffer from motion sickness, where should I choose a cabin?
While motion sickness shouldn't be a major concern on today's ships, you should still know the best way to avoid it if possible. The best location on board to minimize the effect of the ship's motion is the middle of the ship. Cabins on the lower decks, closer to the bottom of the ship, are less affected by motion than those on higher decks. The higher you are, the greater the potential to feel a left to right rolling motion. The Eurodam is fully stabilized ensuring your comfort no matter where your cabin is located. Generally, motion is so inconsequential that the premium suites on a ship are located at the top and near the front. To make sure you get the best cabin for you, book early. Additionally, motion sickness medications can also help relieve any symptoms you may have.
How many people can fit in my cabin?
Some cabins are built to accommodate two passengers. However, there are cabins that can accommodate three and four guests quite easily. These cabin categories are obviously very popular and sell out quickly, so book early if this is what you are looking for.
